Define the cost scope
For a reusable product, record purchase and actual care costs separately. Do not divide by an invented lifetime or assume an unverified number of successful cycles.
Keep disposable quantities exact
For disposable pads, use the selected pack’s actual count and payable amount. Comparing a reusable item with one disposable piece alone omits the intended period and actual use.
Avoid an environmental score
Water, energy, materials and local disposal differ. This site has no product lifecycle assessment and does not turn a price ratio into an environmental ranking.
Use an achieved-use record
For a reusable item you already own, a cost-per-achieved-use record can divide recorded purchase and care costs by completed usable cycles. Future cycles remain unknown and should not be added as if they happened. A different product’s claimed lifetime should not be imported into the record. An actual comparison also needs the applicable care label; this site has not tested laundering, drying or retained performance.
Before you decide
- Use achieved cycles only
- Include actual care costs
- Leave lifecycle claims unscored
